About this tool

LTL Freight Class Calculator is a free utility that turns shipment dimensions and weight into a density figure and an estimated freight class, using the standard NMFC density scale that took effect on July 19, 2025.

We built it because most freight class tools online are either out of date with the 2025 NMFC changes, hide the answer behind a sign-up or a quote request, or only handle a single piece. This one is different: it reflects the current 13-tier density scale, handles multiple pallets and boxes, supports metric and imperial units, and never asks for your email or contact details.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server, and there is no account to create. Our goal is simple: give shippers, brokers, and warehouse teams a fast, accurate, no-nonsense way to estimate LTL freight class.
