What is freight class 110?

Density cannot produce class 110.

The NMFC density scale effective July 19, 2025 has 13 sub-provisions, and class 110 is not one of them. It now applies only where a commodity's own NMFC item assigns it — typically for handling, stowability or liability reasons rather than density. If a calculator returned class 110 from your dimensions and weight, it is running the retired 18-row table.

The class 110 mistake worth knowing

Class 110 is not produced by the current density scale. It sits between the 100 (8–10 lb/ft³) and 125 (6–8 lb/ft³) tiers with no density band of its own, so it now applies only where a commodity's NMFC item assigns it directly.
